Lamborghini Diablo

Spa Italia, according to the organizers one of the world’s largest Italian car meetings. The seventh edition of Spa Italia was a tribute to Lamborghini. I drove up to Spa Francorchamps on saturday, and I didn’t have any luck with the weather. It rained most of the morning, only in the late afternoon we got some sun but by that time I had to leave. I should have gone on sunday when the weather was much better. It’s not so easy taking photos when the sky is so dark, I need more light :)

So I found a nice collection of Lamborghini’s in the car park. The Belgian Lamborghini importer was there with the latest Murcielago and Gallardo models. The Italian supercars stayed in the pits most of the day only going on the track for a parade lap. Some owners were a bit braver and gave their cars a good workout on the track. But supercars and a wet track is not the best combination, I saw a crashed Ferrari 355 Challenge.

RMU classic Spa-Francorchamps

Great event at Spa Francorchamps, classic races with historic formula 1 cars and awesome group C monsters at work. I was very happy to see a Tyrell P34 in action, this must be one of the most radical F1 cars in history. Some very nice group C cars racing in Spa, a lot of Porsche 962′s and the beautiful Jaguar XJR12, still in it’s Le Mans winning Silk Cut livery.

Porsche Francorchamps days

The first time I visited this event, the Porsche Francorchamps days. A bit of a boring line up of cars. I came home with 500 pictures of almost all Porsche 911′s. I had hoped to see some more classics, or some historic Porsche race cars. Almost all participants were driving more recent machinery, lots of Porsche 996 and 997 GT3′s.
